Wojciech Siudmak - Both Sides of the Soul
Description
One side of the monstrous machine represents the male aspect, while the other side represents the female aspect. This refers to the eternal duality that exists in our society and in our nature. The figure inside, appearing after splitting, symbolises the hidden mystery of the human being. It is like an indication that our true essence lies beneath the surface, often hidden from the world. The eyes, represented by insects, are a symbol of our perception. They seem to witness our true nature, our inner mystery.
"The creator becomes the master of the generated reality. Music and visions go beyond the ordinary. In my paintings, too, there is the real, but the elements are juxtaposed in a way that refers to other meanings, personal experiences and the surreal realm of imagination, also referred to as fantasy realism. Reality is perceived here through the filter of the artist's gaze, which proposes his personal vision." - Wojciech Siudmak, Siudmak. Chopin, Dom Wydawniczy Rebis, 2021

Wojciech Siudmak is a leading representative of fantasy realism and science fiction. Fantastic realism combines surreal vision with naturalistic art and has its roots in surrealism, as represented by S. Dali and R. Magritte. What Siudmak shares with Dalí is a virtuosity in rendering the three-dimensional illusion of space, a sense of light and shadow, linear and aerial perspectives. Siudmak's timeless art, captivates with its Renaissance perfection and virtuosity and imagination beyond the norm, fascinating with its intellectual richness. Many famous personalities have expressed their admiration for the artist's work: Federico Fellini, Jean-Jacques Annaud, George Lucas, Paul Guth, John Harrison, Jacques Goimard, Jean Claude Dunyach, Francis Lai, Guy Beart, Kim Stanley Robinson and Denis Villeneuve director of the Oscar-winning film "Diuna".
