Description

'Irresistible' takes us into the world of genetic manipulation. Today, our ability to act in this area is very advanced, which creates many ethical and philosophical dilemmas. As such, we should be aware of all the consequences. Duplicated and multiplied characters can become empty and identityless creations. Will our uncontrolled interference with nature eventually lead to something we cannot understand or stop? This is a resounding call for caution in the unknown areas of our progress.

"In his own words, he does not reflect his own dreams or visions created under the influence of chemicals, as many other surrealists do. His creative imagination stems from a vivid and genuine fascination with the universe, scientific knowledge and the human mind. An almost childlike admiration pushes him to seek connections between different artistic fields, from visual arts and literature to music (he admires Chopin and Puccini in particular). He sees in them some kind of cosmic community, at the heart of which lies a mystery accessible only to the greatest minds." - Dorota Pieńkos, Siudmak Universum, Spatium Art, 2022

Inkography "Irresistible desire to be born" by Wojciech Siudmak was created in a closed limited edition of 100 copies.

Wojciech Siudmak - painter and sculptor, was born in 1942 in Wieluń, Poland. Between 1956 and 1961, he continued his education in Warsaw, at the High School of Fine Arts and then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. In September 1966, he left for Paris and began his studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He lives and works in France. Wojciech Siudmak is a leading representative of fantasy realism and science fiction. Fantastic realism combines surreal vision with naturalistic art and has its roots in surrealism, as represented by S. Dali and R. Magritte. What Siudmak shares with Dalí is a virtuosity in rendering the three-dimensional illusion of space, a sense of light and shadow, linear and aerial perspectives. Siudmak's timeless art, captivates with its Renaissance perfection and virtuosity and imagination beyond the norm, fascinating with its intellectual richness. Many famous personalities have expressed their admiration for the artist's work: Federico Fellini, Jean-Jacques Annaud, George Lucas, Paul Guth, John Harrison, Jacques Goimard, Jean Claude Dunyach, Francis Lai, Guy Beart, Kim Stanley Robinson and Denis Villeneuve director of the Oscar-winning film "Diuna".
