Adelaide Kot's work is filled with the magical grotesque familiar from the books of Lewis Carroll. Modeled after Alice in Wonderland, the animal characters take on a human temperament. The frog, the milk and the egg depicts the titular Whippet greyhound's breakfast. The dog sat down to his meal at a turquoise tabletop, sporting a fancy pea collar. The drink was served in a cup, and a golden spoon was prepared for the soft-boiled egg. The rusty red background shimmers with golden peas - this title is a real feast for the eye!
Adelajda Kot (Aleksandra Mańkowska) is a self-taught polish artist, born in Warsaw in 1984. From 2003 to 2006 she studied mathematics at the University of Warsaw. She was also professionally involved in rehabilitation and training of sport horses both in Poland and abroad. Painting and sketching are her lifelong passions. Since 2020, she has been developing her artistic talent by gaining more technique skills. She currently lives in Germany.
