Zdzislaw Beksinski - Untitled (03)
Description
The photograph "Untitled (03)" by Zdzisław Beksiński is a print from the artist's original negative.
Beksiński had the privilege that his wife willingly posed for pictures with him. A bust of a young woman taken in profile could be a classic black and white portrait. However, the whitening of the model's face caused the contrast obtained to indicate the mysticism of the immaculate figure. The beautiful features of the face and the clear line of the jaw were accurately emphasized by the contrasting light from above. The whole thing seems to be even more legible thanks to the use of a monochromatic background.
A contemporary print was created under the substantive and technical supervision of the Historical Museum in Sanok in a unique, limited series of 30 copies. According to the artist's last will and testament, the Historical Museum in Sanok became the sole heir to his works and the copyrights to them. Each print has two seals - one dry with the name of the institution and the other wet, with information about the series number and the signature of the Director of the Historical Museum in Sanok.
