Zdzislaw Beksinski - Untitled (02)
Description
The photograph "Untitled (02)" by Zdzisław Beksiński is a print from the artist's original negative.
The portraits of Zofia - the wife of Zdzisław Beksiński - were sometimes very expressive. The artist's trust in his model is visible through tightly composed frames. The face of a young woman with wide-open eyes and a furrowed forehead is an eloquent creative portrait. The creation is visible in bright rays rhythmically moving upwards. Darkroom experiments and "drawing with light" filtering through a hole in the lens cover are characteristic procedures inside the medium in Beksiński's photography, absolutely revolutionary for the 1950s.
A contemporary print was created under the substantive and technical supervision of the Historical Museum in Sanok in a unique, limited series of 30 copies. According to the artist's last will and testament, the Historical Museum in Sanok became the sole heir to his works and the copyrights to them. Each print has two seals - one dry with the name of the institution and the other wet, with information about the series number and the signature of the Director of the Historical Museum in Sanok.
