Zdzisław Beksiński - Untitled (14)
Description
The photograph "Untitled (14)" by Zdzisław Beksiński is a print from the artist's original negative.
Beksinski's untitled photographs, found years later, lead to numerous interpretations, but whatever the attributed meanings, they cannot be denied excellent craftsmanship.
The expressive gaze of the portrayed person may read as shrill, but it may also indicate self-confidence. The black and white photograph fully conveys the character and personality of the model, which is also enhanced by the sharp collar lines and the consciously applied uniform background. The clear facial features - accentuated by the stark contrast - further emphasise the uniqueness of his beauty and youthful rebelliousness.
The contemporary print was created under the substantive and technical supervision of the Historical Museum in Sanok in a unique, limited series of 25 copies. The Historical Museum in Sanok, in accordance with the artist's will, became the sole heir to his works and the copyright to them. Each print has two stamps - one dry stamp with the name of the institution and the other wet stamp, with information about the series number and with the signature of the Director of the Historical Museum in Sanok.
