Description

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, in "The Little Prince", taught us what love truly is. The story of the fox boils down to one lesson: to love is to tame — to overcome randomness and make someone irreplaceable. Adam Wątor’s "Companion 2" grows out of the same philosophy. In a desert landscape, two beings coexist — a human and a cat. Their difference in species is emphasized through contrasting colors. The artist captures a first encounter, one that holds the potential to become a shared future.

The inkograph "Companion 2" by Adam Wątor was created in a closed limited edition of 50 copies.

Adam Wątor — born in 1970 in Myślenice. He studied in the atelier of Professor Włodzimierz Kunz at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków from 1992 to 1997. His work focuses on the topic of human emotions. Special attention is paid to the hands of the figures he depicts, searching for hidden meanings in the language of their gestures. He has participated in Polish and international exhibitions, including at Bennett Galleries Nashville (2017), the Musical Theatre in Gdynia (2022), and the Olympic Centre in Warsaw (2023). In 2005, he was awarded first place in the ‘Huile’ gallery competition in Zillisheim, France. His works can be found in private collections both in Poland and in Germany, Norway, Sweden, and the USA.
