Paweł Kowalewski - Black, very black shoes eat the light, from the Loneliness series
Description
"For the first time in a very long time
I started to hear my thoughts, then my eyes fell on
a patch of light, and there were my suede boots, which they ate
all the light…. Well, and then it kind of worked out.”
A fragment of a letter to Andy Rottenberg, which Paweł Kowalewski wrote while in Portugal in 2019, introduces the story of the creation of one of the first works from the loneliness series. A work that was created at the time of revaluation, verification of the existing system of values ??by its author. Paintings - Objects from the series "Loneliness" are a kind of narrative to the consistent, although constantly undergoing transformations by life experiences, implementation by the Artist of the concept of including the private sphere in the universal context. On the other hand, through their simple and at the same time unsaid form, they leave space for the recipient to his own interpretation, or, thanks to the intense color and boldly applied thick layer of paint, just like that, over their beauty of contemplation.
