Description
Jan Styczyński (1917-1981) - one of the leading Polish photographers, member of ZPAF, author of many individual exhibitions, a number of original photo albums. He devoted many years to documenting Polish artists of the visual arts. The artists were shown at work, in their private ateliers, enabling the photographer to create a series of intimate portraits, which are also documentation of the workplace.
"Pantheon" is a collection of photographs taken by Jan Styczyński in the 1960s and 1970s, depicting the most famous personalities of Polish art of that period. The artists were shown both in their studios and during everyday activities, often in social situations. In the photographs you can find works of art known from the canon, but also get to know their creators from a slightly different, private side. The whole series was made with one Rolleiflex camera, in the 6x6 format, on a monochromatic film.

Each series of photographs is accompanied by a descriptive text containing a biography of a given artist and a description of his work.
