"Carnival in Rio" Collection of Jan Dobkowski
Description
JAN DOBKOWSKI'S COLLECTION "CARNIVAL IN RIO" INCLUDES: CARNIVAL IN RIO XXXXII, XXXXIII, XXXXVI

The "Carnival in Rio" collection consists of compositions of dancing figures that fill almost the entire frame. Dobkowski's silhouettes dedicated to pleasure are completely naked, and individual parts of their bodies are significantly exaggerated. They are liberated and playful. The whole is maintained in dark and monochromatic colors. The works consist of fine lines and are rich in detail, which gives the appearance of being embroidered.
The artist himself speaks best about inspirations: “I create the mood. It is an element of intimacy, just as intimacy is a mood. Erotica is not only close contacts between people. Fertility is eroticism that concerns the whole world, including animals and vegetation. I do not deal with the cultural and sociological context of eroticism, I see man as a part of nature. In my paintings, I try to mix plant, animal and human elements, to show the richness of the lines of these worlds that form a single whole. I want to show the seething life.” (E. Dzikowska, "Artists speak. Interviews with master painters")
