The summer holidays are the perfect excuse for a closer encounter with art. It is safe to say that this summer, the opportunities present themselves! When travelling in Poland, it is worth looking around for artistic inspirations. Here are some suggestions as to what you should not miss!
Since 1 July, the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre has been hosting the "Beksiński in Gdańsk" exhibition — one of the largest exhibitions devoted to Zdzisław Beksiński’s organised in Poland so far. In addition to works from the Historical Museum in Sanok, where his largest collection is located, we will also see works on loan from private collectors and three which have not been shown anywhere so far! The presentation includes as many as 64 paintings and is retrospective in nature. The apocalyptic visions of the world delight all lovers of Beksinski's work. So do collectors, as evidenced by the record-breaking auction results. As we remember, the painting 'Character' from 1978 was sold during the auction 'Fantastic Art. Surrealism and Magical Realism' for PLN 1.6 million.

It is also impossible not to mention the unique exhibition 'The Colour of Life. Frida Kahlo' recently held at The Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw. On display at the Podchorążówka are three paintings 'There hangs my dress' (1933), 'Coconuts' (1951) and 'Still life with watermelons' (1953), as well as a film and archive photographs documenting the life of the outstanding Mexican artist. An installation in the courtyard, depicting parts of Frida Kahlo's Blue House, will also be an integral part of the exhibition.
In connection with the acquisition of more works by Tamara Lempicka for the Polish collection at a cost of PLN 8.5 million, the National Museum in Lublin invites you to the artist's first permanent exhibition in Poland, 'Tamara Lempicka Beyond Borders'. Last year's exhibition 'Woman on a Journey', held at the same museum, enjoyed record attendance of 86,000 people. This time, works purchased from Mexico will be on display. These include 12 canvases and six drawings, as well as 15 works on loan from the Lempicki family as part of a long-term deposit. The exhibition will include iconic motifs depicted in the art-deco style, as well as artist’s later abstract paintings.
You are cordially invited to view the collection of Tamara Lempicka's signed prints available in our offer.
