Tadeusz Dominik (1928-2014) - Polish painter, graphic artist, sculptor, creator of artistic textiles and ceramics. From 1946 to 1951, he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He obtained his diploma in 1953 in the studio of Prof. Jan Cybis. In 1958-1959, he stayed in Paris on a scholarship from the French Government, and later in the United States on a scholarship from the Ford Foundation. He taught at the Academy of Fine Arts and served as the Dean of the Painting Department. He came from a poor farming family but had been painting since childhood. Tadeusz Dominik is not associated with any specific artistic movement. He made his international debut at the 28th Venice Biennale in 1956. His works can be found in the collections of the National Museums in Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Wroclaw, Szczecin, as well as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Museo de Bellas Artes in Caracas, Albertina Gallery in Vienna, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and private collections both in Poland and abroad.
