Description
EDWARD DWURNIK'S "MUSICIANS" COLLECTION INCLUDES: MODERN SEXTET, GALICIA, BERLIN VOICE
"Muzycy" is an outstanding representation of Edward Dwurnik's iconic works, dominated by a melodic motif.
Edward Dwurnik, as a careful observer of reality, has been documenting changes in the area of ??culture, politics and economy for years. He captured the ceremonial nature of the Jewish tradition in the painting "Galicja". Due to his curiosity about the world, he did not skip any circles, as exemplified by the documentation of the musical avant-garde in "Berlin Voice" . Despite the not always unambiguous images of the portrayed heroes, thanks to the use of luminous yellows and oranges, the "Musicians" collection exudes spontaneity and authenticity.
Edward Dwurnik (1943-2018) - one of the most outstanding painters of Polish contemporary art, who achieved international success before the political transformation in Poland , thanks to his participation in the prestigious exhibition of modern art "documenta 7" in Kassel (1982). He was inspired by the works of Bernard Buffet, but the works of Nikifor Krynicki had the greatest influence on his work since 1965 . He closed his painting in cycles, the most famous of which are The Road (Ten Stations of Secular Crucifixion), Athletes, Workers, Warsaw and Hitch-hiking. His output includes over 4.5 thousand paintings, 3.5 thousand watercolors and about 13 thousand drawings.
