Mirella Stern - Heart sutra
Description
The Heart Sutra is one of the most famous Buddhist texts. It is said to be so powerful that anyone who understands it has already understood everything — after all, the heart is our essence, our quintessence. Mirella Stern interprets this message in a unique way. The unshakable statue of the Buddha transforms into a playground for children. Colorful plush toys dance around. A brave girl climbs to the very top of the statue to place fluffy, pink ear muffs on the stone head. Who knows, maybe the Buddha’s ears are cold?
The print "Heart Sutra" by Mirella Stern was created as part of a limited edition of 50 copies. Each artwork bears the artist's handwritten signature along with its unique edition number.
Mirella Stern was born in 1971. She graduated from the Faculty of Art at the Pedagogical University in Kraków, where she defended her thesis in 2005 under the supervision of Dr. Aleksander Pieńka. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Poland. Currently, she combines her individual painting work with stage design. Her fascination with the "theatricality" of life is reflected in her art, where she depicts the distinctive figures of wooden dolls.
