Hanna Bakuła - A mysterious bench
Description
Hanna Bakuła is a true artist — she paints, writes, and designs costumes. Critics often call her “Witkacy in a skirt.” In 1996, she designed the costumes for the opera *Carmen* at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw. Her work sharply captures the surrounding reality.
As she says about herself: “(…) I never draw people who aren’t attractive. That’s my rule. I also don’t draw people over 60, the obese, the bald, or children. Of course, I most enjoy creating portraits of people who are both beautiful and intelligent. Even though I’ve often turned down commissions, I’ve created around two thousand portraits. Each one took me about four hours to complete.”
The inkograph "A mysterious bench" by Hanna Bakuła was released in a closed limited edition of 5 copies.
