Edward Dwurnik - album "Painting / Painting"
Description
The mini-album from the Painting series presents the works of Edward Dwurnik (1943–2018), one of the most recognized Polish painters. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, awarded and honored many times, he was a laureate of, among others, the awards of the Independent Culture Committee of "Solidarity" (1983) and awards of the Foundation for Contemporary Art (1992). He mainly created elaborate painting cycles characterized by grotesqueness and drawing form of expression. Among the most popular of them are Hitchhiking (1966) - landscapes presented from a "bird's eye view", Warsaw (1981) - referring to martial law, and Droga na Wschód (1989-1991), in which the artist paid tribute to the victims of communist persecution by the authorities of the Soviet Union. This mini-album contains a selection of the painter's most interesting works.
