Michał Zaborowski - meeting with the Artist in the DESA Modern gallery

One of the outstanding contemporary Polish painters isMichał Zaborowski (born in 1960). Almost immediately after defending his diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1985 (in the studio of Prof. Ludwik Maciąg), he was awarded a gold medal at the Biennale of Sacred Art in Gorzów.

In the saturated colors of his paintings, monumentally depicting dynamic figures, one can see the kinship of style, connecting the Polish artist with two masters - Balthus and Edward Hopper .

His importance is evidenced by the fact that Zaborowski's works are in institutional and private collections both in Poland and in the USA, Canada, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and also in Australia.

Timeless motifs

Our offer includes original collector's graphics by Michał Zaborowski . They are available both in stationary galleries and online. Classic motifs are presented here in a new, vivid form of modern painting. The magnetizing ultramarine of the "Trojan Horse" , the expressiveness of "Icarus" or the power of "Pygmalion" will be fantastic on the living room wall, in the privacy of the bedroom, as well as in the office space. All this thanks to the universality of the subject, which Zaborowski takes up in an equally timeless, but at the same time extremely intriguing style. This makes the graphics of this Polish artist a great idea for a successful gift.

The artistic workshop itself is also noteworthy, as Zaborowski sometimes uses the method of gold flaking . It is to this technique that paintings such as "The Three Kings" or the series "Figures" owe their unique spirit of elegance . The jewelry aura of Michał Zaborowski's paintings, which has been reflected so far in print, has recently reached a new dimension. Namely, we have introduced to our offer single copies in an impressive format, which the artist himself decorated with shimmering gold .

"He's a fantastic guy and a great painter"

This is how Michał Zaborowski was described by the patron of contemporary art, Kama Zboralska, who led a meeting with the artist at Warsaw's DESA Modern Gallery at Plac Konstytucji. It is hard to disagree with this opinion. The atmosphere at the event was friendly and unpretentious. However, this did not overshadow the professional nature of the event. The artist emphasized the importance of figurative painting in the landscape of contemporary art. This is evidenced by the success of his paintings, invariably maintained in a depictive convention. There were also family memories - Andrzej Zaborowski, Michał's father, was a famous painter and architect. “It is still my father, not me, hanging in the National Museum. And it motivates me to continue my work” – said a special guest of our gallery.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with the artist's works and our OFFER .
