Pola Yankee - One summer day
Description
There’s no doubt that Pola Yankee is an artist working in the spirit of abstraction. The viewer of her work is freed from the duty of deciphering hidden meanings. But does non-representational painting have to be devoid of narrative? Absolutely not! The title One summer day injects a strong narrative pulse into the graphic. A delightful gradient of sunny yellow and orange becomes the spark of a one-of-a-kind story.
The inkograph "One summer day" by Pola Yankee was released in a closed limited edition of 20 copies.
Pola Yankee — a Polish painter born in 1987 in Warsaw. Raised in an artistic family, she has been painting since the age of 16. She earned her degree with distinction from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń in 2012. She has participated in both national and international exhibitions, including two solo shows (Toruń, Alliance Française 2010; South Bend, Bernacchi Gallery 2009). She has sold several hundred works, which now reside in private collections in Poland and abroad. Using gradient, impasto, and glazing techniques, she creates multidimensional abstractions — often bordering on landscapes. She is most fascinated by the emotional power of color on the viewer.
