Pola Yankee - I see the world in blue
Description
Maryla Rodowicz once sang Agnieszka Osiecka’s lyrics about the “sad color blue.” But is the blue palette doomed to depressive associations? Pola Yankee rejects that notion. The artist reveals the vibrant vibrations of light filtering through shades of blue, sapphire, and deep navy. One might get the impression that the piece is a visual record of a sonic experience — and without a doubt, it’s a friendly melody.
The inkograph "I see the world in blue" by Pola Yankee was released in a closed limited edition of 20 copies.
Pola Yankee — a Polish painter born in 1987 in Warsaw. Raised in an artistic family, she has been painting since the age of 16. She earned her degree with distinction from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń in 2012. She has participated in both national and international exhibitions, including two solo shows (Toruń, Alliance Française 2010; South Bend, Bernacchi Gallery 2009). She has sold several hundred works, which now reside in private collections in Poland and abroad. Using gradient, impasto, and glazing techniques, she creates multidimensional abstractions — often bordering on landscapes. She is most fascinated by the emotional power of color on the viewer.
