Tamara Łempicka - Album in Polish (1)
Description
The album "Tamara Łempicka", devoted to the life and work of the artist, has an introduction by Maria Anna Potocka - a Polish art critic, curator and theoretician. Thanks to the artist's great-granddaughter, Marisa de Łempicka, the artist's biography was developed and her memoirs were written down. The album opens with a photograph of Tamara in her New York apartment from the 1950s. Over a hundred works and photographs from the artist's life, including portraits of artistic bohemians, aristocrats and members of the elite, such as "Portrait of Count Fürstenberg-Herdringen", "Portrait of Marjorie Ferry" or "Orange Shawl" from the cover of Die Dame magazine. The selection of works allows us to trace the artist's work from the 1920s to the 1960s, from figures, through still life studies, to late abstract compositions.
“Although Tamara Łempicka has gone down in history as a painter, in reality you can look at her life in much broader artistic categories. By imposing her appearance and her perception of the world, she became her own work of art. And when the explosion of talent came in the 1920s, she created a total masterpiece.” - Anna Maria Potocka writes in the album.
Introduction to the album: Marisa de Lempicka and Maria Anna Potocka.
