Kat Garstka (born in 1977) - an artist with dual Czech-Polish citizenship, a painter, motion designer, creating in digital and VR (virtual reality) space. Her life and work span between Warsaw and Ostrava, and this geographical duality and borderland also become the subject and context of her art. Her works have been exhibited, among others, at the Czech Galerie Mlejn in Ostrava (2005), the Warsaw exhibitions "Surreal" (2011) and "Unlimited Art Space" (2012), "Other" (2013), as well as the Sopot exhibition "Young Art" presenting works by 71 most interesting young Polish artists.

Her style combines traditional painting with the latest animation techniques. She often uses the medieval technique of laserunke painting, but with the use of contemporary pigments. She draws inspiration from the tradition of classical portrait and landscape painting but deepens it with a psychological hypothesis, resulting in the portrait becoming a manifestation of dreams, dreams, and fantasies of painted characters. The heroines of her paintings are predominantly women subjected to painterly psychoanalysis, together creating a compelling herstory narrative. The abstract structure and surrealistic landscape merge with the figure, creating ambiguous paths for interpretation. All this is done to reach the essence of personality. The ambiguity inherent in Kat Garstka's works gives the viewer the opportunity for a broad and multidimensional interpretation.
